    Cornerstone, an emerging, ambitious Austrian band, marks the calming influence between the prevailing pop-mainstream and the rebellious riot produced by the revived Britpop movement. A mixture of indie-rock and tuneful pop-elements, Cornerstone knows how to capture their fascinated audience. In concert, Cornerstone walks the line between dreamy ballads and screeching, impulsive songs with a dense blend of grunge-guitars and drums.

    Founded in 1998 by two brothers and a drummer friend, Cornerstone began by playing covers of The Cure, R.E.M., and Soul Asylum then began writing their own music soon afterward. Current lead singer Anja brings a passionate voice and rounds off the band’s unmistakable sound.

    “Whatever” is was released April 15 by Arizona’s Renaissance Records.
